Arki-Bond UW

Premium cementitious tile adhesive for totally submerged conditions.

Arki-Bond UW is a polymer-modified cementitious tile adhesive formulated using Portland cement, graded silica sand, polymeric materials, selected property-improvers, fillers and chemicals. When mixed with water, it provides a durable thin-bed adhesive for ceramic tiles used in swimming pools and other areas subjected to continuous contact with water.

Follow each step for best results.

01 Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be clean, sound and free from loosely adhering particles. Remove cement laitance by wire brushing, grinding, sand-blasting or water-blasting. Concrete substrates should be at least 3–4 weeks old, depending on climate conditions.
Slowly add Arki-Bond UW to approximately 6 litres of clean water while mixing. Mix using a slow-speed drill with a mixing paddle for at least 2 minutes until a smooth, slump-free consistency is achieved. Allow the mixture to stand for 5–10 minutes before use.
Spread the mixed adhesive with a trowel and comb using a suitable notched trowel to form a ribbed adhesive bed. Fix tiles within the product’s open time, pressing firmly with a slight twisting motion to ensure full contact. If skinning occurs, re-trowel the adhesive before laying tiles.
Clean excess adhesive from tile surfaces and grout joints with a damp cloth before it hardens. Wash tools with clean water immediately after use.
