Arki Mortar S40

High-strength, structural cementitious repair mortar.

Arki-Mortar S40 is a ready-to-use cementitious repair mortar, composed of Portland cement, graded aggregates, and special chemical additives. When mixed with water, it produces a highly homogeneous repair mortar suitable for structural concrete repair works. It can be applied in a single layer with a thickness of up to 50 mm on horizontal surfaces and 20 mm on vertical surfaces.

01 Surface Preparation

Saw cut the perimeter of the repair area to a minimum depth of 10 mm, and remove all damaged concrete. Expose any corroded reinforcing steel and remove rust using grit blasting, then thoroughly clean the repair area using high-pressure washing or vacuum cleaning.

02 Mixing

Mix 20 kg of Arki-Mortar S40 with approximately 4 liters of clean water using a grout mixer or a slow-speed drill fitted with a high-shear mixing paddle. Continue mixing continuously for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. In hot weather, use chilled water and store the materials at a temperature below 30°C.

03 Application

Coat the exposed reinforcing steel with a primer coat of Arki-Primer Z and allow it to dry. Saturate the concrete surface with water while removing any excess water, then apply Arki-Primer AR, placing the mortar while the primer is still tacky. Compact the mortar firmly into the repair area and build up the material in layers if required.

04 Cleaning

Clean tools, mixers, and equipment with clean water immediately after use. Hardened material can be removed mechanically or by using Arki-Clean ACD.
