Arki-Spatter D4

Ready-to-use, Portland cement-based spatter-dash (key coat) mortar.

Arki-Spatter D4 is a pre-blended, dry, polymer-modified and fiber-reinforced Portland cement-based spatter-dash (key coat) mortar. It is designed for application on smooth and rough concrete, rubble (stone) masonry, old and new brickwork/blockwork, cement tiles, lightweight composite panels, and all types of blocks and bricks. The material provides an excellent mechanical key with the surface and acts to equalize and unify absorption on highly or variably absorbent substrates.

Usage Instructions

Follow each step for best results.

01 Surface Preparation

Clean the surface thoroughly and remove dust, dirt, laitance, loose particles, and any contaminants. Ensure that the surface is pre-wetted before applying Arki-Spatter D4.

02 Mixing

Mix approximately 6 liters of clean, cold water with one 20 kg bag using a slow-speed drill fitted with a high-shear mixing paddle. Continue mixing continuously for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. Use the mixed material within its pot life.

03 Application

Apply the material manually using a trowel or by a spray/plastering machine (spiral pump). Ensure that at least 90% of the surface is covered with a spatter-dash layer with thicknesses ranging from 3 to 5 mm. The plaster/render can be applied 1 to 3 days after application, depending on the temperature.

04 Cleaning

Clean all tools and equipment with clean water before the material hardens.
